Blogfirmation: Appreciate where you are in your journey, even if it’s not where you want to be. Every season serves its purpose.
I spoke to a friend yesterday that I haven’t spoken to since I moved from SC. He texted me a solar return shout out, and we were able to catch up on what’s been going on this past year. It always amazes me that so much can change in a year. I was so glad that we were able to catch up on life and give each other life tips. He was shocked that me and an individual that I use to call my friend were no longer speaking due to the fact that we met thru this person. I had to explain to him that sometimes people are not able to go with you when you are trying to elevate in life. You will start to realize who is a friend to you just seeing how they move and how they react when you are trying to evolve as a person. They will show you if they are supportive, or if they have some type of animosity because you know how to embrace change.
When a friendship ends, especially one that you were extremely close too, it feels like a death. You literally go through grieving that relationship. The saying that you have probably heard before, “Some people come in your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.” Well, I guess our season was officially up. I don’t give up on my friendships with people easily. I always make the effort to stay connected to my circle. But there is only so much you are able to do when the energy is not reciprocated. I love seeing people strive and thrive in anything that they want to do. I encourage everyone to follow the path that you want to follow and stay consistent. If there is any way that I am able to help, then by all means let me know.
I looked back on the changes I made in my life, and moving to a different state and letting your loved ones know, you will sometimes see who is for you and who is against you. It always amazes that some people don’t want to see you elevate in life. Like what does my evolution have to do with you? We all have the same amount of time in the day to make something happen, or to learn something new. Even as a kid, I knew there was more to life than just working a 9-5. Life has to be about creating and loving what you do. We always expect that family will be your number one support, but actually it’s not. I remember back in high school, my last year to be exact, and I was having a conversation with my dad on what I wanted my next steps to be. I always wanted to be a hair stylist and have my own line of fashion. I use to draw how I wanted my salon to look and create designs for clothing. My dad always stressed to me the importance of education. Do you know he had the nerve to tell me that I wasn’t going to be famous and that no one would purchase my designs? You would assume that your parents would be your number one supporter, but nope not in this situation. To be honest, I didn’t care about being famous, I just wanted to do something that makes me happy.
When you enjoy what you do, then it doesn’t feel like work. I have learned now that you go where you are loved and celebrated and not tolerated. You will realize soon enough that sometimes your supporters will be complete strangers. Why is that? How is that a complete stranger will send you love and support, and your own family wouldn’t even show the support in return? I guess some things we will never know. Always go where the love is. Continue to follow the path that is being shown to you. You will be amazed at the things that are presented to you. Life definitely doesn’t come with a manual, and it is truly a journey. But I know we are here to learn and create how we want our life to be. Continue to speak positive things over your life and watch the changes that come. I am still staying consistent on my path and know that there is something greater.
Always build a circle of friends who are truly genuine, safe energetically and are mature spiritually. Have friends who hold space and not animosity. Make sure that they are compassionate and not judgmental. Find the ones who take time to check on you and your progress. Recognize the ones who will grow through life with you, hold you accountable and wish you well. I am forever grateful for the people who truly show me love.
