Staying in Alignment

Blogfirmation: Constantly believe that everything is working out for you no matter what’s happening.

This is a true affirmation to live by.  Everything that we can possibly want starts in our mind. What holds us back is what we tell ourselves. When I say that I am still unlearning a lot of things that were taught as kids. It’s mind blowing sometimes. You start to wonder how did I get to this point? I can remember a lot of things growing up that I wanted to do as a kid. What’s the one common question that adults used to ask you when you were growing up?  The question for me is what do you want to do when you grow up? When I was a kid, I knew I wanted to have my own company. I wanted to own a salon and style hair and be a fashion designer. For years, I would style my barbie’s hair and my parents had gotten me this fashion design kit that allowed me to create fashion. I loved doing that. Even when I got to high school, those dreams were still with me.

Of course, when you get to high school, you truly start to figure out what is your next step going forward. My dad force education down my throat. I can remember every lecture I received from him about going to college.  College was important growing up in my household. My mother went to college, and my brother went to college. My dad didn’t go to college, but he did get his degree while in the military. Here I am, the baby girl, the last child in the household, and I truly just wanted to style hair and make clothes. I only wanted to go to college to get away from the country town I lived in. There were no opportunities for growth where I am from. College or military were the only options at the time. But I didn’t care.  I wanted to do something creative even back then.

Now let me say this, I don’t regret any part of my life. My college years were my best years. I met so many different people that I am still cool with til this day. I got a degree that I was able to utilize later on in my life. But being creative has always been what I truly wanted to do. Back in 2014 I was able to obtain my cosmetology license. I even got the opportunity to work in a salon and worked for a franchise salon as well. It was truly a highlight in my life. I loved what I do, but even when you love what you do, you still have people along your journey that are going to try to hinder your success.  And of course that happened to me.

Now present tense, no one is stopping this journey. I am more focused now on staying present and creating as I go. I believe that what’s for me will not pass me by. I am already claiming that everything is still working out for me. They say that sometimes your path might be a little lonely. But in my eyes, I use it for my advantage. I know I am not alone. I know that I have people in my corner that support my highest evolution. And most importantly I support myself.  I know things are unfolding right in front of me, and I am just enjoying the journey.

Signing off…..
